Abstract-
The main aim of this review paper is to represent a general study performance
of stress, which describes the phenomenon of stress Measurement and its types.
The basic types of stress sensor and their technical advancements, limitations
and significant is also discussed in this paper. Now a days the Piezoelectric
Sensor are very convenient to detect the stress distributions over surface of
the material as well as the Piezoelectric Sensor is used to detect the
vibration also. In this study an attempt has been taken to discuss the various
form of stress sensors are used in the different application.

 Introduction

 

       We all are aware about the stress
calculations by different formulas but in this paper we are going to study
about some sensors which convert mechanical stress into electric signal .There are
different types of sensors are available in market. That sensors are classified
according to their work.

     Stress is nothing but the force applied
per unit area. By using piezoelectric sensor we can calculate stress easily.

                                 Usually electrical or
electronic that convert’s one type of energy to another with the help of device
is known as transducer. In engineering most transducers are either sensors or actuators.
Transducers
has sub division as Actuators. Actuators are devices which transform an input signal
(mainly an electrical signal) into motion.

Sensor: a physical, chemical or biological Quantity are converted into an
electronic signal is sensors.

Electrical: Voltage, current, charge, resistance, inductance, capacitance,
dielectric constant, Polarization, electric field, frequency, dipole moment.

Magnetic: Field intensity, flux density, magnetic moment, permeability.

Radiant: Intensity, phase, wavelength, polarization, reflectance, transmittance,
refractive index.

Chemical: Composition, concentration, reaction rate, pH,
oxidation/reduction potential.
